CELEBRANT Aware of the power of the word to unite people with each other and with God, we offer our prayers to the Lord on this day dedicated to communications and people who work in this field: READER For Pope John Paul II, that the Lord may give him light and strength to lead the Church and be for all of us an example of announcing the truth of salvation in Jesus Christ. (With Mary) we pray to the Lord, Response: Lord hear our prayer... For our Bishop and all the clergy, that with the awareness of serving a people living in a media society they may promote unity among the Christian community so that all may come to believe through their witness. (With Mary) we pray to the Lord, Response: Lord hear our prayer... For our political leaders, that they may carry out their responsibilities and communicate messages which promote unity and understanding among peoples. (With Mary) we pray to the Lord, Response: Lord hear our prayer... For families, that unity may prevail in them and their light may shine on society transforming every place of work into a wider human family. (With Mary) we pray to the Lord, Response: Lord hear our prayer... For young people, that accurately informed by the media they may grow in an authentic commitment for promoting the common good. (With Mary) we pray to the Lord, Response: Lord hear our prayer... For communications professionals, that they remember that their work must have its roots in the transmission of good, beauty and truth and promote today, more than ever, an authentic culture of life. (With Mary) we pray to the Lord, Response: Lord hear our prayer... For teachers and educators of the new generations, that they may know how to choose media content which enriches and educates young people. (With Mary) we pray to the Lord, Response: Lord hear our prayer... CELEBRANT Lord, hear our prayers and help us to be promoters of peace and truth where we live proclaiming your love with our life and through the instruments of the communications media. We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen. |
